9 days | 8 nights | Argentina & BrazilLatin Rendezvous_YOU Travel Tauranga Travel Agency9.jpg

There are few journeys that capture the spirit of South America quite like this. From the polished avenues and intimate cafés of Buenos Aires to the thunderous grandeur of Iguazú Falls and the sun-drenched energy of Rio de Janeiro, Latin Rendezvous brings together three very different expressions of the continent. Tango, samba, exceptional cuisine and extraordinary landscapes unfold naturally across nine days, offering a rich introduction to Argentina and Brazil.

Buenos Aires — Elegance, Flavour & Tango

Arrive in Buenos Aires and settle into the rhythm of Argentina's sophisticated capital. Elegant boulevards, grand plazas and European-influenced architecture provide the backdrop as you explore the city's historic heart, from Plaza de Mayo and the Obelisk to the colourful streets of La Boca and the cobbled lanes of San Telmo.

Continue through the refined neighbourhoods of Recoleta and Palermo, discovering leafy parks, striking architecture and the city's enduring café culture. A culinary walking experience offers another perspective, with Argentine specialities, local vermouth, Malbec and dulce de leche revealing the country's distinctive food traditions.

As evening falls, Buenos Aires becomes a city of movement and music. After an introduction to the art of tango, settle in for a traditional dinner and performance at La Ventana, where dancers, musicians and singers bring the history and passion of Argentina's most celebrated cultural expression to life.

Iguazú — Where the Rainforest Meets the FallsLatin Rendezvous_YOU Travel Tauranga Travel Agency8.jpg

A short flight carries you north to Iguazú, where the sophistication of the city gives way to the lush stillness of subtropical rainforest. More than 275 cascades stretch across the border between Argentina and Brazil, creating a landscape of immense scale and energy.

Explore the Argentine side through elevated walkways and rainforest trails, reaching the extraordinary Devil's Throat, where vast volumes of water plunge into the gorge below. The Upper and Lower Circuits offer changing perspectives, from panoramic views to intimate encounters with the falls, while the surrounding national parks provide glimpses of toucans, coatis, butterflies and other wildlife.

The following day, cross into Brazil for an entirely different perspective. Here, broad walkways trace the edge of the gorge, revealing sweeping views across the waterfall system and the mist-filled rainforest beyond. It is a fitting transition between the two countries before flying onwards to Rio de Janeiro.

Rio de Janeiro — Iconic Landscapes & Brazilian Rhythm

Rio arrives in a rush of colour and movement, framed by mountains, rainforest, Guanabara Bay and the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. Journey through Tijuca National Park to Vista Chinesa, then ascend Corcovado to stand beneath the monumental Christ the Redeemer and take in the extraordinary panorama of the city.

Continue to Sugarloaf Mountain, ascending by cable car for sweeping views across the bay and coastline before finding a quieter side of Rio at the Botanical Garden, established in 1808 and filled with tropical plant life and towering palms.

Your final day delves into the creative heart of Brazilian Carnival. At Cidade do Samba, discover the artistry behind the costumes and elaborate floats, learn about the traditions of samba and experience the exuberance of Carnival for yourself. Later, venture into Lapa for an evening at Rio Scenarium, where live samba and Brazilian music fill a historic setting with the unmistakable pulse of Rio.

From the elegance of Buenos Aires to the elemental power of Iguazú and the exuberance of Rio, Latin Rendezvous leaves you with a vivid sense of South America in all its contrasts. It is a journey of grand landscapes and intimate encounters, of food, music, history and movement — a compact yet deeply immersive introduction to two remarkable countries.
